The implementation of the ESPR entered its next phase on July 20, 2026, when the EU DPP Registry went live.

The DPP Registry is a central repository for all product passports in the EU. It covers all product groups and industries subject to the ESPR and stores only the most important data about a product, not the entire product passport itself. The actual product data remains with the respective company.

Companies must register their product there before selling it in the EU. However, the registration requirement only applies once a delegated act or a passport requirement is in effect for the respective product group.
